What can ancient traditional Star Stories tell us? How they are interpreted NOW depends on each of us and the Teller\u2019s training. Come experience an afternoon of story telling and unravel the stories\u2019 meanings a layer at a time. In the Kiva-like setting of the Chamber, Nancy will take us on a journey as she shares Indigenous Star Stories! You will learn valuable information from ancient stories and actual events.<\/p>\n

Raven began playing the Native Flute as a young teen growing up in the Florida Everglades. His Taino and Seminole heritage was a strong influence in his desire to give something back to the community and share the gift that music brings. Raven brings a genuine, healing song that is strongly influenced by the very heartbeat of our Earth Mother and the stories that shape our lives.<\/p>\n

Robert Austin Performs at Watersong!<\/h2>\n

A Crystal & Tibetan Bowl HEALING Concert in our Crystal-filled Chamber<\/strong><\/p>\n

Robert Austin will be performing his “sound healing concert”, along with offering personal healing sessions (see below). With more than 30 Crystal and Tibetan Bowls and other instruments, Robert opens the door to healing for all levels of consciousness. Feel the healing vibrations of sounds that are not only soothing to your ears, but also soothing to your soul! Our own voices are also used as part of the sound healing experience! If you are dealing with illness or just not up to par, you will especially benefit from this experience in the Peace Chamber! AT THE END OF THE CONCERT, YOU WILL BE ALLOWED QUIET TIME TO RETURN TO YOUR BODY AND GROUND YOURSELF. Robert will be outside to receive your feedback and questions before going back into the chamber for limited personal work.<\/p>\n

You may bring cushions or blankets for lying on the crystal-filled floor of the Chamber (if there is room), bring water and wear comfortable clothing. As is our tradition here, there is no charge for this experience, but Love Offerings are appropriate and appreciated ($20 or more is the suggested offering). Please place your gifts in the glass containers located on either side of the Chamber entrance.
\nRobert can also help you select your own crystal or Tibetan bowl, Rods of Isis & other interesting items while he is here Wednesday and Thursday.<\/p>\n

Personal Sound Massage Sessions\u00a0<\/strong>
\nA personal \u0093sound massage\u0094 with Robert brings vibrational healing to all levels of your body. Clients report amazing results physically and emotionally! Robert often receives information as he works with you and will share that if you like. Sessions are non-invasive, and cost is $85 for 1 hour; $50 for 30 minutes. If you’d like a personal session and cannot afford it, please speak with us about it, as Robert wants to help those in need of this healing work. Dawi<\/strong>, a Caretaker of Watersong Peace Chamber (among many other titles), will be sharing stories and wisdom he has accumulated from more than 30 years of being in ceremony and learning from Native Americans. His Elders have instructed him to start sharing his knowledge!<\/p>\n

Sarah Haggerty<\/strong> will also join with a discussion of dreams and their meanings, as dreams are more real than what we think Earth life is now. Sarah will teach us how to nourish dreams and bring a sense of meaning back into our daily life. Sarah was the 2012 Winner of the NC Environmental Educators of the Year Award. She is the Program Director at the Eco-Institute and she is the Founder and Director of the Natural<\/p>\n

MAKING A WOMAN’S PRAYER SHAWL<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a>This is a special gathering day for women wanting to learn about the meaning and use of the Prayer Shawl. Our day will consist of learning about the Prayer Shawl through stories and teachings, along with actually making as many shawls as we can in a day<\/span>. We invite you to help in making the shawls from fabrics we have prepared, as these shawls will be gifted for a memorial service giveaway. Your participation in making these shawls will be a special gift to a family.<\/p>\n

There will be demonstrations of making various types of shawls so that you can decide what type of shawl calls to you. You will also learn the amount of fabric and amount and kinds of fringe you can use for making a prayer shawl. We\u2019ll have a few types of fabrics and fringing materials for sale for making your own shawl.<\/p>\n

PaTi Coleman will be our guide for the day along with wisdom sharing from some other precious Elders.<\/p>\n

We invite you to come with a good heart and enjoy a special time sharing with women. We ask that you wear a skirt or dress, or use a sarong,<\/span> as we will be in ceremony while making the shawls (this practice honors the sacredness of ourselves as women in the Circle of Life). We will end our day with a little ceremony to bless the shawls that we have made!<\/p>\n

Foundations of Indigenous Wisdom<\/h3>\n

January 19-21, 2018<\/strong>
\nWatersong and Foundation for Earth\u2019s Ancestral Voices is partnering with the Eco Institute at Piccard’s Mountain to cosponsor the exciting program, Foundations of Indigenous Wisdom<\/strong>, described below. For those of you who\u2019ve been searching for information and protocols concerning Indigenous People, this workshop is for you! You will learn how to 1) honor age and life stage, 2) how to develop a healthy Elderhood and 3) how to rediscover elements of culture which are rare in the Western world. You will explore how to change the world by connecting on a deeper level with Nature, Indigenous wisdom and with one another.<\/p>\n

Nancy Basket is an ideal person to teach us these important values and have fun in the process. You can sign up for EITHER the entire weekend or a day of class during the weekend of January 19-21 (Saturday class is held at Watersong<\/strong>). Costs should NOT prohibit you from attending. Scholarships are available on the Eco Institute\u2019s website which makes this event affordable to everyone. Come join us for an educational and fun time!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>We are blessed to have Nancy Basket as our story teller this month! Nancy Basket is Cherokee on her dad\u2019s side and German on her mother\u2019s. She came south 26 years ago to learn stories of respect to tell her children and pubic school students. As a South Carolina artist in education, Cherokee elders found her and shared many more stories NOT in books. She will tell some stories and invite you to ask questions in order to hear the layers of information embedded inside the tale. Many academic disciplines are realizing Native American stories are more than MYTH! You can learn more about Nancy and her many talents at NANCYBASKET.COM. Time flies during this experience!

Ancestral Healing: A Day of Ritual Tending & Ancestor Honoring<\/h3>\n

Everyone has loving and wise ancestors, and by reaching out for their support we access tremendous vitality for personal and family healing. In addition to supporting repairs with living family, our ancestors encourage healthy self-esteem and help us to clarify our destiny, relationships, work in the world and in our daily lives.<\/p>\n

After the morning teaching until around 2pm, we’ll share in a different ancestor-focused ceremony. Folks are welcome for just the morning or for both morning teaching and afternoon honoring ceremony.<\/p>\n

Please join us in our prayers for the Water, and particularly the Water Protectors at Standing Rock, ND, on Monday night.\u00a0 We have Gabriel Kelley, friend and musical artist, who will be singing a few of the special songs that he wrote on the Land here in the Winter of 2012.\u00a0 These songs remind us to WAKE UP, remember who we are and NOT TO LIVE IN FEAR!\u00a0 This performance could not come at a more meaningful time, especially to help inspire US and the Water Protectors at Standing Rock.<\/p>\n

Gabe will head out this month to Standing Rock pipeline sight and offer assistance and his songs of inspiration for the People.\u00a0 We will happily accept any donations you\u2019d like to offer at the Monday ceremony or thru PayPal on our website to help with the efforts and needs at Standing Rock Reservation, and to assist Gabe on his trip out there.\u00a0<\/strong><\/em> (Gabriel Kelley is on Facebook if you want to look him up!)<\/p>\n
